Nice one.

How often do you rev it to 8K? What's the redline? Is the valvetrain stock?
Yeah could be interesting if the trunnion needles go through the engine at 8k. Unless they have been sorted, which I have my doubts. Seems money spent by the PO went in all the wrong places

is it cammed ? my LS2 wouldnt make power over 6k with limit at 6600rpm, there should be no way u can over rev these as they cut fuel before 7k so if ur going to 8K id highly recommend not to ur internals wont last long inside the engine, must have had the limiter removed if u are getting that high

Doesn't redline start at 5,500? I've never hit reds in mine and likely never will.

the HSV with the LS2 is limited to 6600 stock, the holden range LS might be about the 6200 or so from memory, then above those is a extreme fuel cut encase the limiter didnt work

So does this risk melting a piston if the fuel is cut and it leans right out at say 7k and your cruising along? I know from owning race bikes you never want to run out of petrol or you will seize the engine.

its different as ur not slowly starving it causing a lean event, this is a immediate shut off of the injectors so no fuel at all goes in, u will have some residual fuel from previous cycles of WOT operation but that dosnt affect it enough to cause damage, but if ur constantly bouncing off it then it may eventually cause an issue but its the extreme cut so u shouldnt be able to get to it really as the actual limiter spark/throttle should stop u before that

Yeah obviously different to racing bikes. On my race bike you run out of fuel at 180kph you can kiss the pistons good bye.

My carbed bike uses about 350mls a min at WOT at 9k. I'd say this is likely why it's different to a modern car.
