I think today is going to be a good day. I scored the above TC for $220. 3 month warranty, all threads intact...
Also I have 2 job interviews today...
Full of hope ain't ya....Used TC's are a punt and the higher the mileage the bigger the punt (may be on an logarithmic scale)
They can have worn internal clucth and you'd never know or the trans it was bolted to may have pooped itself sending cruddy fluid into the TC and you'd never know. If you actually got to see the TC come out of the car and was able to drop the trans pan and look at the amount of crud in the pan bottom, then may be you could make an informed decision. Otherwise it's just trust that the seller is honest with mileage and condition and isn't pulling a swift one on you.
If they offered a 12m warranty i'd feel more comfortable as [pulling the trans again is a big job and a PITA.
But you never know, may be the TC is from a good low mileage vehicle that's not been flogged on every outing
Guess that brings me to the question that others may be able to answer, can you flush out a used TC successfully, may be inspect the fluid coming out?
I dont think it would be possible to flush.Used TC's are a punt and the higher the mileage the bigger the punt (may be on an logarithmic scale)
