VZ executive
Hey Guys, I’m new to this forum. I just sold my VZ crewman cross 8 and am looking at a VZ executive sedan 2004 81,000 and a VY 2003 with 145000
I’ve owned an adventurer which had huge timing chain issues.
Just don’t want to go down the same road as the adventurer. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Wouldn't touch a vz 6 if you have an option of a tidy vy.

TBH with all the info online I don't know why people would even consider buying a vz when a good vy is an option. They weren't great when they were new, let alone 15 years on lol

That VY is just a pup. My manual 2003 VY 3.8.S is close to 400,000 km. It's had new fly wheel as the original dual mass one was failing (only an issue for the manuals I think), a new radiator a couple of years ago, and recently a new DFI module and a new heater core. They just keep on keeping on. Touch wood.

Yes, fully agree. My old VYII Berlina from 2003 has approx 450,000 on the original motor. Nothing big done just spoil with oil/filters, plugs when it needs them. Mine could probably do with a timing chain and tensioner however it runs like a watch and still has plenty of power.

I agree the VY has a good, easy to maintain engine and is much better than the VZ Rattletech. Only thing I like of the VZ is the body styling.
