Does anyone have updated pics on how to remove and fit the filter?

If I can get one to fit I will - just pulled everything apart to clean it today

Might do this. Have everything off for cleaning and painting.

To remove the scrivets, you'll need a trim tool and even hold the outter part and unscrew firmly but not enough to push it back it. I use the trim tool to get under them to give some pressure. Once the screw part is out a slight bit, I use the trim tool to lever the screw out.
Some I just reefed off with side cutters. I'll put a different type in that are easier to remove.

Major Bump. The links are dead in OPs post.

I used the RCA174MS (Trade price $30 - Retail $85 - the box contains 2 filters). You may be better off with HEPA filters off ebay that you can cut and shove in the void behind the mesh screen.

It fits in without modification however there's a 1cm gap on both sides, so it's not quite spot on.

Those plastic scrivets are Satan however, and I could only get them out via drilling the center and using a self tapping screw & pliers.

Also just wanted to say cheers for the help
Found this on Spares Box. Thakns for the part number @TheApothecary.

Ryco Cabin Air Pollen Filter Microshield RCA174MS
$31.98 (eBay price from them)

Fits Navara '05/'06 & Pathfinder.
265mm x 100mm x 24mm

$37 +postage from their website!

Could use some hot glued foam either side to snug the fit a bit.

@scaredyet

This might help some of you get into the mesh under the wiper cowl.

Also might help if you plan on getting into the HVAC for a few reasons
