Hahaha, yeah, bearings........

Yep, they can be a pain, getting the outer cup out of the IRS bearing support is a PITA and usually requires destroying the bearing cup which is no good to you so new bearings would be easier.

Depending on the age of the various diffs the bearings probably aren't compatible anyway as somewhere along the line the tapper angle on the rollers changed.

If it is possible how do I get a good weld in the open diff?
There is just such a small gap.
Can't find anything anywhere.

NOT recommended unless you are an experienced welder, if it goes wrong the weld can break and weld loose inside the diff could possibly get into the main gears and lock the whole diff solid/break teeth of crown wheels/pinions.

Better off just spending $100 and buying a mini-spool.

My dad is an experienced welder. The problem is we are not 100% sure where we weld. Like if he welds to the pins or if he welds to the housing will that wreck it?

I don't want to spend any money, its for a paddock basher so I wont be to disappointed if it breaks. But would still like to see if work for a bit.

Well in that case you need to weld up the spider gears (the 4 little gears in the centre). You will need to clean them up real good and try and pre-heat the whole lot to if possible.

So don't weld the spider gears to the housing or pins at all?

If you weld the whole lot and something breaks then you will need a whole new centre or diff.

Can someone shine a little light on how they have removed the bearing cups that are in the carrier adjusters. The ones that wind in either side. Cheers

I'm doing a diff ATM and we are going to run a weld along the inside of the bearing cups, when they cool they should shrink enough for em to pop out.
