- VF V8 Calais
Probably a bit harsh calling it unknown. The company has been in the US for a fair time, has rave reviews. This isnt just off the shelf. The software has been custom engineered to work with the VF, something only a $3000 Alpine can do...with less features and also no HUD integration. This has DAB+, Multiple GPS apps, Carplay (now wireless option), reverse camera integration with moving lines (I have to pay to get this added to my S1 Calais according to Holden) and the ability to install a nice app to make it look pretty good. I will await peoples reviews, but all their previous models have had 1000's of rave reviews. I have my fingers crossed. I agree it would be nice if they released the model of the head unit hey have modified, but I understand why they wouldn't as well.It is ok for a $250 head unit. It is 2 years old now.
- Came with reversing camera included.
-The Bluetooth connection app, which looks exactly like the one in the video, is a bit fiddly and some times it has to be hard reseted to connect to the phone. (little pin hole in front of the unit)
- It is quite slow , I supposed the hardware is outdated now.
It is far from perfect but I would have it anytime over the Mylink , if it could integrate to the VF. Ah and if it has a reasonable price. $1000 bucks for a unknown brand ,no way . I am happy to use my phone + Mylink instead.
