Chevrolet hasn't cast an engine block for more than 30 years...

 

It's funny how many people in the US who bought the exported VF (Chevy SS) are converting it back to Holden badges to it lol...

But yeah, only thing gayer (or is it politically incorrect nowdays lol) than Chevy badges on Holden are wankers putting ///M or AMG badges on their poverty spec 318i, C180s...

 

People in the US converting the Chevy SS “back” to Holden badges ? They were never badged as Holden for the US market; and with a brand in the US like Chev being so popular; why would they ?

 

No but GM who owns Chevrolet does....GM use the factories and inventory they purchased from Chevrolet. The LS1 is commonly known as a “small block Chevy”; so it is safe to say with GM owning Chev that they do make engines and many know them as a small block Chevy...

Well it’s a random VF chat...so we are randomly chatting/debating whatever....if you don’t like it you don’t have to read it mate.

 

There is a subtle difference between "random chatting" and "aggrieved points scoring".
I could put you on "Ignore", but the comments still come up when I am not logged in.
So …. just to join in the pedantic word-smithing, I will make the statement that Holden did not build the AlloyTec engine, they assembled it.

Wow; did you read above ? Alloytec engines...lol; that’s why they are so **** of an engine and that’s common knowledge with the Alloytec engines running through the SV6s etc; talking about 8s mate; so what is your point ?

Yanks badging what they as a “beloved” Chev bashing it to a brand they don’t even drive ? Highly doubt it....where is this evidence of Chevy SS being bashed a Holden ? Sounds like BS to me...

This is a VF random chat thread … and I think that VFs did use the AlloyTec …... and the current subject is about the origin of the engine species.
Is the AlloyTec a Cadillac engine ? Or a Holden engine ?
Or, is the AlloyTec a Chev engine, as it was built/made/assembled by GM, and used in a number of GM vehicles with Chev nameplates ?
Did any Alfa Brera V6 owners put Holden or Cadillac badges on the cars ?

The point of this ? It is easy to write pointless dribble, or drivel, as I have just done.
Or, maybe I should not comment here as I don't have a VF.

 

Because those people doing that are obviously of high intelligence and have get taste and style, and want to pay homage to the once great car company that actually made the car they love so much!!

 

Your ending is probably most appropriate....as I said we were debating the V8 engine. ALLOYTEC as a name first appeared I believe in the VZ; what a mistake that was initially.

Saw that....stand corrected article saying how the yanks could order them accordingly; whether they wanted to drive a Holden or a Chevy....very weird **** considering they don’t run the Holden badge through the US

Holden badging was available as a (low-cost but not free) option when you bought your new Chevrolet SS. *edit* Which I see you've discovered already! /*edit*
Along with Holden branded sill-plates to replace the Chevrolet ones ... also, I'm not sure whether Chevrolet branded floor-mats were available, but they could order the Holden ones; same with mud flaps, the boot^D^D^D^Dtrunk organiser, and the plastic trunk-liner had Holden logos when sold in the US. I'm sure there was other stuff too, such as headlight protectors & I'm not sure if the window weather-shade things have Holden logoes?
They must've decided it wasn't worth getting such a small batch of those things made - especailly if some buyers were paying extra for Holden badging anyway.

As per my "Members Ride" and my sig I no longer drive a VS.

 

There are a few American members on this forum that have converted their rides back to Holden, you are really showing quite a bit of ignorance.
