Ordered a set of infill panels which cover the whole infill area, should be here in a few weeks. Will give a smooth clean look like the later model utes.

Started undoing everything to put the motor n box out.
Got the radiator out, wires off, extractors off plus a few other bits. hope tomorrow to get the rest of it and pull the sucker out!

Got the new Motor and Box back in, spent the day reconnecting everything back up.
Only the Radiator and a few hoses to go, I'm not in a hurry to get it all done in a day but should be ready to turn the key tomorrow if everything goes well.

I have struck one snag with the shifter as it has a Hurst Shifter. I can get 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Drive but wont go into reverse or park as i have nothing to lift and push forward like you would have in a standard shifter setup. They must of had something done to the last box for it to glide shift with no locking into each gear correctly.

Sounds like the linkage is hitting on the exhaust hangers tab's on the extension housing.

Put the hardlid on today for something different, have a break from bending over the car.
Figured it would only had half hour until the hex screws wouldn't come out.
We tried welding a bolt to it, drilling it out and then grinding it off. 2 hrs later we got the infill panel off one side lol. The rest of the hardlid went on easy...

Picked up a set of Statesman Door Cards today
Got the 4 doors in good condition for $100 with all the trim to go with them but i only need the front 2 being a ute. The front drivers side is missing the red reflector and 1 back 1 is missing window button. Either way it works out for me lol
Got the Switches, Console Loom and Door Cards, just need the electric window regulators now.
Oh and picked up a Statesman felt lined glove box for $40

I have those same ones in my bus. I have the lights but wished I wired up the globes. It's a bit of messing around now to get them working.

It didn't, was very dangerous setup. I need to change it back to original but can't seem to get the Hurst shifter off the shaft so just thinking of drilling and riveting a new shifter unit, from memory the shaft was bolted on i might be able to just change that.. Will look at it in the morning and work it out one way or the other.

Thanks, yeah worked it out it was hitting where u said. Had to cut it down for the selector to run past without fouling.
The other box didn't have the Top or Bottom Hangers on the extension housing
All good now the shifter goes from Park to First and back without hitting anywhere.

Someone mentioned i should have changed the extension over before fitting the new motor but i didn't see the post until the motor was in. Bugger lol.

Motor is all finished off, started almost first turn of key was quite surprised.
Ran for about 30-40 seconds and stopped! Oh great here we go ...but it was just out of fuel lol.

Had a major headache with the belts, the larger back one went one easy but the front one we had to change idler pulley's so the belt didn't rub on itself.

Put the Mace Memcal in today, motor was bit sluggish not running properly so i put the Memcal in to see if it made a difference...
Man does it crack now, seriously it doesn't even sound like the same car.

When i took out the old Memcal it is a HSV XU6 Enhanced chip, interesting.

    [edit] Found the code meanings..
tonight i will sort out the error codes i did today
    12, 15, 23, 48, 53, 97

Code 12 - System Pass (OK)
Code 15 - Coolant temperature Sensor high voltage
Code 23 - Mass Air Temp Sensor (MAT) high voltage
Code 48 - Cam Angle Sensor
Code 53 - System Voltage high (auto)
Code 97 - Canister Purge Solenoid and/or Circuit

Got to sort out the TB next, when you rev it, it sits at about 2000 rpm, after 10 seconds it starts to drop back to idle. Prob a vac line somewhare not sure.

Brakes, we have bled them 6 times but every time you start the car they go straight to the floor, turn it off bleed them again, seems hard, start the car and straight to the floor. Snyone know whats going on there?

vacuum leaks to booster & if it's been lowered look up diagram for rear brake bias valve...will have measurements where bracket on panhard is meant to be.

Won't be 100% if adjustable panhard although it did make a decent difference with firmer pedal & also not feel like it only had front brakes.
