Attention to detail is a must. A professional beater/painter is teaching me with this one to bring it to show quality.
Its going to take some time as we both work and have to do it in our spare time

Thought I'd add an update to what's going on.

The hard work is done and some paint has been layed.
Decided to midrub the basecoat and flow coat the clear before buffing to give it a smoother deeper shine.
I've also worked out that SS fog lights do fit Calais so will be replacing those also.
Budget wise its still eating into the bank with just over $2K committed to the paint alone.
This is my first time working with 2pac and I have to say I love it so far other than the smell.
No dust or bug issues so far

Thought I'd throw a couple of progress pics up.
Getting there slowly. The chrome vinyl ordered for the quarters came folded and I wasn't happy with the outcome so another week delay waiting for a rolled lot to arrive.

This is going to look so good once it is all back together. Again, the quality you get these things to is next level. Well done! All that prep is definitely paying off.

Yeah Richie. Still love my red.
    They are DNA paints.
The roof is Silver Flare and the body is Firestorm red candy.
Its pretty much DNA's version of candy apple red.

All the visable bolts/screws have been polished or replaced with silver ones and the plastic clips have all been replaced.
Still a little way off with having to mid rub and flow coat but should be worth it in the end.
Had to order another 4ltrs of basecoat and 4ltrs or reducer so i'm well and truly over budget but no room for shortcuts.

So far the paint tally is over 3k alone. woops

    Getting there slowly.
A little more work to go with lining things up and finishing off the doors.
P.S. This image is not photoshopped

Only thing I'm not 100% sold on is the wiper motor cover in silver - In black it just hides

It's to take the focus off the big arse scoop that I never wanted but needed lol
With the mirrors it will blend in

I remember seeing this around in Warrnambool before the updates. Keen to see what it looks like again when painted. Looks mint as.

The photos are under the fluros so looks darker than it is.
Different in the sun light though.
