Maybe they are asking an exorbitant price for it?
Oh cool, you got a March build. Your car was built on the day I picked mine up.
From what Super Coach said, if none of the batch n holds are coloured then that's a good thing, as it means there were no quality issues that had to be rectified. Looks like you got a good one too.
Sounds good to me!!
It's going to be an excruciating next couple of days.... picking her up Friday
Got my windows tinted today. Wow, what a difference. Looks amazing with all the other black highlights on the car, and the car is no longer like a sauna after 5 minutes in the sun.
Got it done by Rob Tait from Car Tint in Ringwood - http://www.cartint.net.au/
For anyone in Melbourne, I cannot recommend him highly enough. He's been in the trade for about 40 years and knows his stuff. His workmanship and attention to detail is second to none. He even lets you sit there and watch him work.
The film is Madico Charcool 35%.
Looks amazing mate!
I dare say he'll be getting my business too!
How's the car going a week down?
Ps: that plastic seat slip must be killing you with the warm weather ATM
Looks great. Did Rob also tint the sunroof ? He tinted my subaru which included the sunroof a few years back.
Nah, the plastic is gone now, took it off yesterday.
A week in and everything is going very well. Still can't wipe the smile off my face. 328km on the clock now.
My only gripe so far is that the driver's seat is significantly firmer than my old VE Calais, so it's something I need to get used to. Other than that there are no complaints whatsoever. The car is as tight as a drum and the build quality is perfect.
Cheers mate. Didn't get the sunroof done as I didn't really think it was necessary, but if I change my mind I can always go back and get it done.
I didn't think the sunroof needed anymore, and if it's too hot just close the shade.
Delayed reply I know however HEC equipment from Pt Melbourne ended up on Grays online - lock stock and barrel.
Yeah, to me it looks like the sunroof glass is already tinted, and like you say if it gets hot just close the shade.
Care to share the link? HEC is located in Elizabeth SA, so I doubt that they moved machinery from SA to Vic
HEC is in Port Melbourne Vic, which is the V6 engine plant that closed last year.
HEC = Holden's Engine Company, not to be confused with Holden Enhancement Centre.
Incorrect - The engine plant at Port Melbourne is known as HEO - Holden Engine Operations.
HEC is as you said, Holden Enhancement Centre.
The Northside dealer (unnamed) has had it there for a month, yes I drive past everyday on my way to work, both Canberra dealers were much more unwilling to generate a sale than the NSW dealer who eventually got my business. And who I imagine has a much smaller allocation of Redlines
Ok, it used to be HEC, I'm not sure when they changed it.
Southern dealer had a LMF manual... I have also been steered away from them due price...
It was alway know as HEO for the 11 years I work at Port Melbourne from 2004.
I notice they still have a MY16 Red Hot SSVR manual for $61.5k there as well.
My bad, I'm still living in the 90's lol. It became HEO in 1995.
"In August, 1995, HEC announced a $200 million investment boost over a two-year period to support the introduction of four valve, double overhead camshaft (DOHC) technology, foundry modernisation and capacity expansion. It planned the volume manufacture of the DOHC Family II engines in 1.8, 2.0 and 2.2 litre displacements.
Later that year, HEC became today’s HEO (Holden Engine Operations) following its re-integration into Holden manufacturing operations, poised to make a key contribution as GM moved to develop its operations in the Asia Pacific region."
