    Personally that wouldn't bother me. When people start copying, you've done it well, it's a sign of respect. There'd be few and far between but. Maybe the odd SS or Redline. I doubt many, will bother.

    Imitation is the highest form of flattery.

    At the end of the day, wth modern technology, it would be easy enough for someone to replicate any of the stickers if they so desired.

    I spoke to my dealer today re ordering some spare MSE decals for the car in case of damage in the years ahead. After some enquiries he said that spare parts like this for the MSE or any other of the limited editions would not be available for order until the car has a VIN ie around June, and this is then matched with the owner of the vehicle requesting the spare part. This will make it harder for anyone slapping on some stickers to their Redline etc and trying to pass it off as a MSE.

    This would seem a fairly good idea by Holden to keep the quality high.

    I locked in my final spec this morning and got an updated price with my GMON. It's slightly higher after I added center caps, lock nuts, etc.

    Supercoach, my final contact prices are similar to what you listed earlier except I have a separate $6k for GST which you seem to be missing. Apart from higher stamp duty which covers $1k, GST seems to be the cause of the remaining $5k difference between my price and the price you started this thread with.

    Anyone getting MSE prices below $70k from Adelaide, can you confirm if you're being charged GST as a separate line item? I'm still confused.

    Melbourne (EternityDre)
    MSE - Manual $61,790
    Wing Spoiler - $500
    Red Center Caps - $220
    Wheel Lock Nuts - $190
    Boot Power Socket - $120
    Spare Motorsport Edition mats - $120
    Dealer Delivery - $1,364
    Stamp Duty - $3546
    Rego / Compulsory 3rd Party Insurance - $788
    Personalised Plate Fee - $121
    Vic Roads Fee - $34
    GST - $6104
    LCT - $902
    Total - $72,530 DA

    $61,790 is the RRP of the Motorsport Manual inclusive of GST. Check this with the dealer

    Correct. "Price" always includes GST. It's the law.

    PM Cuda. For the record, both dealer's I've had MSE orders with have charged GST on top of the $61k car.

    Then this is either incompetence or the dealer's way of charging $7k dealer delivery without making it look that way on the contract. Recommend you push back hard

    I agree I think this is why everyone in VIC is paying $72kish for a MSE.
    I'll still pay $72k if they don't budge but I at least want them to change the contract to put the markup on the car instead of saying I'm paying tax when I'm not, that seems dodgy as hell.

    It would be interesting to see the underlying calcs for their BAS return and if it does indeed included what appears to be double GST.

    The price for a manual MSE should be something like:
    Holden RRP 61,790 (which is GST Inc);
    Dealer Delivery mine is $1,495 (GST inc);
    LCT (outside the scope of GST i.e
    nil GST);
    Stamp Duty (same as for LCT); and
    Rego etc and other options...
    GST is not added to the RRP. But additional GST is included in some other costs as shown above.

    Spot on. The dealer should be claiming an input tax credit for 1/11 of what they pay to Holden. Then adding GST to their sale value. , Not charging GST on the full GST inclusive price from Holden It's just wrong...

    Hi EternityDre, The dealer has charged you GST on the car twice, The price for the MSE is $56,173 excluding GST, that is how it's shown on my contract. Ask them to correct it and amend the amount outstanding or you'll forward a copy of the contract to Holden and the ACCC as I'm sure it would be a breech of the TPA WRT misleading information, (maybe give them the chance to fix it first but the grounds for maintaining a good relationship seem hard to justify). Considering all a dealership does is sell cars it would be difficult to swallow this as just an oversight.

    Just before you make any accusation the GST figure is correct and you're not being charged twice:

    $72,530 drive away less tax free components:
    - $34 VicRoads fee
    - $121 Plate fee
    - $788 Registration fee
    - $902 LCT
    - $3,546 Purchase stamp duty
    = $67,139.

    The GST component of $67,139 is conveniently $6,104 when rounded...
