Move the gear selector from park to reverse slowly and watch the idle does the rpm flare up.
Are you using tuner pro for testing, if so are there any fault codes.
The transmission is clunking because the rpm's are to high, once you fix the idle problem it will return to normal, try disconnecting the battery...
Check your engine mounts, yes the fuel pump does prime
We're all the wet plugs from the same side of the engine?
Have you checked for fault codes maybe O2 sensor causing over fueling.
Take vacuum hose of fuel pressure regulator and see if it's leaking
Your information says you have a vx l67, have you tried bridging the 5&6 pin on the obd port and counting the flashes.

Use the statesman loom just lengthen the appropriate wires, contact mace engineering a sponsor on here and get a vs l67 memcal without vats, sell...

Have you thought about a Barra swap.
I have swapped a cracked flex plate before with another l67 flexplate and didn't notice any difference.
Maybe someone else knows more about this...
Grab one that hasn't been messed with.
Sounds like a electrical problem, check wiring harness to transmission or faulty PCM.
Tyre profile to high use a lower profile tyre.

Get them sand blasted then powder coated them much better than painting them.
Check the passenger side engine mount nuts.
Looking at those crs mount adaptors it looks like you have to use tuff mounts on them, as the factory one's won't bolt up to them.
Code 45 high voltage so it's rich, try putting on some extra earth's might make a difference.

No you don't need to empty the fluid from the transmission, just unbolt the torque converter from the flex plate and push in to the transmission...
Take it in and see if it has the latest software fix on it, if it does ask them to do a relearn reset on the TCM, they tend to learn bad habits.
